JONI WATKE

Joni Watke has been an attorney in private practice since 1996 and a professional speaker since 2008.

In her law practice, many of her clients are LGBTQ+ or their family members and allies. She focuses in the areas of family law, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, probate, second parent adoptions, guardianship, and name changes. She takes advantage of her access to judges and court personnel to educate those in the judicial system to become better LGBTQ+ allies.

Joni also founded Academy LGBTQ whose mission is to educate organizations and families to elevate their allyship so they can celebrate LGBTQ+ individuals.

Joni educates to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues for thousands across the country each year. She’s worked with many Fortune 500 companies, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, the American Bar Association, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and provides continuing education credits for legal, law enforcement, firefighters, medical and mental health professionals. She’s been featured on CNN and The Advocate.
